Dandelion Renewables is backed by an impressive team of skilled and passionate individuals who believe in the power of renewable energy. We believe that great change comes with a great team and we are here to help you with all your solar, wind and energy conservation needs.
Mikhail Ivanchikov – President
The image of sun resembling dandelion, growing everywhere and spreading its seeds by the wind, came to Mikhail as a symbol of renewable energy many years ago. While working on the development of large wind farms he realized tremendous opportunities and values renewable energy has to offer. Ever since, spreading renewables became his passion.
Mikhail holds a Masters degree as Engineer-Physicist from the Department of Physics and Power Engineering of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, the best-rated technical school in Russia. In 2001 Mikhail with his family made a move from his comfortable chair at a Wall Street risk management firm in the New York City to Edmonton that he now considers his home.
Mikhail has extensive experience in wind business development. He was responsible for valuation and managing due-diligence processes for large wind farms in Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia and Saskatchewan worth over $1.2 billion of committed capital. Mikhail has completed training in Wind Turbine Design, Operation and Maintenance from MREA and has Solar Electric credentials from SEI. He is also serving on the board of the Solar Energy Society of Alberta.
Nowadays, you can find Mikhail basking in the sunshine, breathing the fresh wind and spreading the renewable energy values.
Gabriel Kuchinsky – Master Electrician, Renewables
Gabriel was a part of our Dandelion Renewables team since our first grid-tie solar installation. Gabriel is responsible for installations oversight and systems commissioning. He is our go-to person for any difficult technical and electrical code questions.
Gabriel started in the electrical trade in 2003. Over the last 10+ years he gained extensive experience in residential, commercial and industrial construction. Lately Gabriel was combining the work in utility maintenance/construction with solar power installations. With Dandelion Renewables he installed and managed many grid-tied and off-grid systems as well as some small electrical projects. Gabriel says that he continues to learn and to strive to be a better electrician with each project that comes his way.
Steve Gladwin – Director of Engineering
A graduate from the industrial engineering program at Dalhousie University Steve worked in the oil and gas industry for a number of years before switching gears and joining the renewable energy industry. Since joining Dandelion Renewables in 2014 Steve was the key contributor to all our energy efficiency and feasibility study projects. He is also responsible for renewable systems design work. Both energy efficiency work and renewable energy match very well to the broad engineering experience he brought to our team.
Starting from 2016 Steve is managing renewable systems design work with electrical and structural engineers reporting to him.
When Steve is not working long hours, you can find him swimming in the North Saskatchewan, biking on trails or working in a gym.
